For free exposure and self advertisement, its well worth the money. I know Spectrum take out a fee as well. You should also consider Expos which is free. I recieved a couple of commissions and a job offer after Expos, so by personal experience i can say its well worth a shot. Something i find to be strange though, is that you cant send previously published images. A rule neither Spectrum nor Exposhave, and those are basically THE two most prestigious mags to be published in. With that, they rule out a lot of the best images out there, since the best stuff usually are published in several mags, or other books many times over. But go for it Alvin!
