Subject: Making a JPG Thumbnail

After reducing my latest work to below the 200pix limit for thumbnails I found it impossible to reduce the quality enough to bring the file size under 15k. I've tried reducing the size even smaller but the size would have to be teeny weeny tiny (75pix on longest side) before it cracks 15K. Is this because the image contains too many colours making it difficult to compress in JPG format?

I make mine 150 x 150 (partly for that reason). But even then, are you saying you can't do a "Save for web" after cutting the dimensions to 200 x 200 and lower the quality to get a respectabile showing under 15k?

Ah man! "SAVE FOR WEB" lol, I was using "SAVE AS" and fiddling withe the JPG options as I thought they performed the same task. How embarrasing! Thanks for the tip. It's true I'm new to Photoshop being a PSP user for many years.

BTW, "Nesidara" is my GF and I logged her off and logged myself in, but for some reason my original post still came up as her.

All's well that ends well wink. (I use PSP and PS...though I'm not very exceptional with either)
