Since I had to cut my Geometries folders down (over 700 was TOO many) and I can no longer allow ever Jane, Dick, and Marry to have their own folder in there I have had instances where a maker named the object file Dress01.obj and since I already had a Dress01.obj in my Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople:Victoria folder I simply renamed the new one to {maker's name}Dress.obj, then open the CR2 and change the path call and obj name to {maker's name}Dress.obj -> done, works fine. Same with textures, someone gets lazy and names their texture Shoe.jpg then I just open the CR2 and complete the work they failed to do correctly buy renaming it 'this'Shoe.jpg and then, using the REPLACE command of my text editor I finish the maker's work within the CR2. The trouble is that Poser and it's community has gotten too large for this ego trip with everyone wanting to name everything after themself....textures OK, but the CR2, PP2, and OBJ should named for the character it is made for and use the standard existing library folders as much as possible....think of the user and not one's own ego kick when distributing files. Sure, some of my freebies have the object going into a 'sub' folder of Props or sometimes I just put it in Props but the PP2 or CR2 I always try to think "What folder do most people already have for this type of item" and put it there, for that is where the user is going to look 5 months from now when wondering "Where was that item...it was relating to 'fish' so I'll look there" and guess what? They FIND it! But then again there is no 'One way' that everyone names or stores their files, but this !!! garbage and lazy naming of files like Dress.jpg or Shoe.obj is just inexcusable.
