I have to say I hate these things too but I do them in most of my products Before you stone me I do them to put them in existing file structures instead of doing them in new folders. Instead of having new folders for each texture I do like some merchants I try and dump them into a common folder. So instead of adding another folder I put them into !MAT M3 if it is for M3. That is my sole reason for doing it. To cut down on folders by putting them into an existing structure. I think the first time I saw the files I go so annoyed and deleted it but I didn't feel like changing all of the MAT poses to reflect the new texture folder so that still is in place. I think it was someone who recently fell out of favor at another site.
