Subject: Car Props? How Come There Isn't Any? :)

zippyozzy ( ) posted Sat, 05 February 2005 at 12:57 PM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 12:53 PM

Anyone know where I can get a car prop to sit the characters down in? It doesn't have to be fancy. Just a basic car! Prefer free lol. Any site links would be cool. It'd for an animation I'm making. But I have a feeling cars are non-existent I'll even gladly download it as an .obj. I want to make a street scene. But the basic props seem to be hard to find. :) thanks in advanced.

DAZ has cars PoserWorld has cars. PoserWorld is even selling individual items now including a car for only $10 There are some sites out there with free cars that can be imported into poser as props, but most any car you find for poser will not be free cuz there is a lot of work in makeing a car.

Xdyner do a very impressive Jeep-type vehicle as a demo of their range, though as I recall it needs converting from 3DStudio format.

Wow. That's a terrific resource. Thanks, Wadus.

Isn't Sharkey's 'Vette still in freestuff here?

WARNING!

This user has been known to swear. A LOT!

AntoniaTiger ( ) posted Sat, 05 February 2005 at 4:35 PM

Not on the obvious searches... If it's the same Sharkey as I recall, he had a site with a lot of freestuff, but the freestuff vanished, and the site's been just pointers to for-sale items for a long time.

ok thanks will check the links. Not too sound cheap on my part but I'm saving for P6 so free is good. :)

Go into the Rhino forum here and you'll see tons of cars. Clothing modellers aren't really welcomed in there and 99% of the modellers are guys so there's plenty of boy stuff to be had for the asking!

Ahh yes, Planit3d came through for me found what I was looking for. In 3ds format, imported into P4 with ease. Now all I need to to is slide the characters in somehow. maybe jazz it up a bit. I will most certainly checkout the rest of your links. Thanks loads!

and you can use PoseRay (http://user.txcyber.com/~sgalls/) to import the LWO models into Poser.
