Has anyone had any luck with getting Vue to render Poser 5 Hair without making it look like yarn? (Noisy/Crunchy) No matter what I do I get the "Yarny" effect such as the attached picture. Both the same file rendered using the final setting in Vue, and just normal firefly in Poser. The color issue is another matter, the I can work around that.

got the latest update? (Vue 5) that is supposed to fix a lot of the troubles with Dy hair...

Yep, the latest beta 5.05. That's what I used to render that.

I have the same problem Llyr. Vue 4 rendered Poser 5 dynamic hair even better than Poser 5 did. I wish they would address this problem in Vue 5.

Well actually I had the same problem in Vue d'Esprit 4, no change at all in fact between them (with regfard to the hair).

Here's what I get. Both rendered broadcast. Vue 4 is smoother and less grainy than Vue 5.

I wrote a tutorial on how to work with dynamic hair in Vue 5. It is possible to get good texture and color. I have attached a shot of a render I did in Vue 5 of an imported poser 5 person.

regarding the top-most picture, the headpiece looks WAY better in Vue than Poser (or did you do that on purpose and I'm just stupid =)

Actually I think Vue renders everything better than poser...... except the hair (I'm not sure why poser put that dark area at the hairline), Poser makes it look silky, smooth and fine, while Vue makes each strand thicker and puts hash marks in them as if each strand was a braid. Not the effect I want for that hair. btw I had found that tutorial before, but forgot about the shadows, I tried that as well as increasing the anti aliasing settings and got some improvement, but still find the strands thicker and with the hash marks to some extent.

Here it is with the shadows recieve and cast turned off, and anti alias increased, the hair is quite a bit finer and smoother I must admit, I also changed the color to a very dark brown to achieve this shade of blonde.
