Subject: Ordering Vue without a credit card or paypal

youandwhosarmy ( ) posted Fri, 11 February 2005 at 1:09 AM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 5:36 PM

I was wondering if anyone here could answer this, cos e-on are taking ages to respond to my query.

I would like to order Vue 5 Pro Studio, and was told by e-on that I could do this with a bank transfer, that I should indicate this in the comments section on the payments page of the online ordering system. This page however has no other payment options other than Credit Card or Paypal, so if you don't choose one of them, you get a required filed alert and cannot proceed.

I'm in South Africa, so phoning e-on is sort of out of the question.

Any suggestions?

Ryan.

Have you checked for local resellers? Maybe that is a solution for you.

One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.

No local resellers for Vue or Poser. Thats a business opportunity for an entrepreneurial South African.

Oh, this is difficult then. And maybe you should mention that to E-on. That you don't have any other chance to buy the product. They know their channels best i would say. And can come up with a solution.

I live in Denmark and have bought Vue without creditcard/paypal with no problems at all. I started by asking how it was done in the supportsection. Perhaps you can look it up there? If not I would suggest that you send an e-mail or IM to Steve Bell (I think that's the right name?) and he will probably find someone to help you ordering. Good luck - hope your problem gets solved soon!

I'm being a bit impatient with e-on I suppose, as its only been a few days since I sent the request, but they usually reply within 24 to 48 hours. Its just annoying that they say it is possible to order this way (bank transfer) and then don't provide the means or information to do it. I've also got a project due mid-march, so I'm under a bit of stress to get the software. :( Thanks.

I went to a bank and got a prepaid credit card and bought mine that way. Almost any bank will do that for you. Just remember to go online and activate the card after you get it. The bank forgot to tell me that and my first order was rejected. Once I activated it I ordered again, and it worked.

yaaa e-on is a little "differant" when it comes to purchasing stuff... they have probably lost sales over the years because of it.. ( I know I've thought about canceling a few times) but in the long run it's all worth it :) there is a placelink for asking questions in the ordering web page (link at the bottom of the page) they usually answer a a day or two.. but not to often over weekends.. and ou got to remeber that you're on diff time zones and all... so it may take an extra day... don't worry.. try writing again if you don't hear by monday.. they are usually very good about answering !!!

Hexagon, Carrara, Sculptris, and recently Sketchup.
