Subject: Opinions requested on some Daz software...

I'm looking at some utilities at Daz (and maybe here?) like Morph Manager, Injection Pose Builder, Dial Cleaner, the Pose Tools, and others. Are any of these tools that folks have found particularly useful? I'm not sure what all of them do. I'm particularly interested in things like the ability to quickly restore a V3 to default body/head shape (surely there's something out there just for this) and save MAT poses. I find I'm saving too many .pz3s when I get the feeling there's easier/faster ways to save this kind of info. This question might be overly broad, but feel free to interpet it as "what tools speed up your workflow?" within Poser? (Poser 4 or 5, I use both). Thanks, LinkDink

quickly restore a V3 to default body/head shape It's in Poser ... Edit > Restore > Figure should do that for you. It returns characters to default shape and pose (which may not necessarily be zero pose) >> save MAT poses There are some utilities here in Free Stuff as well as the Marketplace for that feature.

Morph manager is one of the best free programs for poser, it can copy morphs between figures (not different ones, though) it can also help in deleting parts of figures, though that is not for beginners. It can do some editing of the cr2 like removing certain morphs or all morphs. It is available at the link.

Dial cleaner is essential for the unimesh figures. It sets the unused morph channels to '0' so they don't display. To set V3 to zero, get zero morph script from ockhma' site. Morphmanager's function is to transfer morphs from one figure to another that has the same geometry- ie V3 to a modified V3. Injection Pose Builder, sets up a pose file containing your custom unimesh channels.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

One tool that is invaluable for my is Correct Reference Pro by Hogsoft (from the marketplace here.) Fixes all bad and incorrect references to textures, geometries, etc. Essential if you install a lot of extra content to Poser. There's also a freebie version which will give you an idea how useful it is, but the paid version really rocks my socks :o)

...I'll throw in a vote for ockhams scripts in general (at the link posted by Nick above). He's written a lot of them and most are easy to use. Several of them have become 'must haves' for me. I agree with Karen on Correct Reference Pro, too. Makes Poser life a lot easier. While you're looking at that you might also want to take a look at Hogsofts PBoost if you have a lot of stuff to keep organized.

hey nickedshield... a question about dial cleaner... I always start off with a V3 with all morphs loaded cr2 that I saved in my Daz People library (it's 107mb) after creating a character with it and adding hair, clothes etc. it (the new character cr2)ends up being around 160mb+... Now what I'm wondering will Dial Cleaner get rid of not only the unused morph channels in the propertiesbut also within the cr2? Thus decreasing cr2 file size??? Sorry for adding my question into someone elses thread but it was semi on topic!! Thanks! G

ghelmer, Dial cleaner doesn't get rid of them, only changes the hide/unhide value, so, no, it doesn't reduce file size. There is a utility in the free stuff area- Morph Cleaner, that claims to actually delete the unused channels. Myself and another person have had zero luck with it but you might.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.
