Now for the wet blanket. Children, the only thing OpenGL will do is accelerate the rendering of the preview window. Actual hardware rendering acclerator cards are premium items (look up the Oxygen series to get an idea how premium). Game cards have no backfeed buffer; what goes in goes to the ramdac then to the monitor. The most Open GL will do is allow you to have more figures-items in the viewport before it bogs down. And see up to 8 lights and the transparencies. But you won't get any actual rendering assist, anymore than Vue or Truespace does.
