Does anyone know the name of the artist who did the renderings for the Southern Reconnect TV advertisement that's showing in the Gulf Coast, USA market? It's just simple renders of "out of the box" children rendered in Poser in the cartoon style. I'm just curious. Did someone here do that commercial?

I doubt anybody here would pull something right out of the box--and admit it. =)

The overall effect was good, and that's what graphic design is really about. I've got no problem with a designer using "out of the box" graphics. Not all of us here are fine artists for a living. The figures in the commercial were actually secondary. They were basically fluff to fill space in the main message. Just images, rather than a blank screen with voiceovers. Curious Labs just about creamed their jeans over the skeleton animation that Chris Rock's production designer Todd Rutt used for the background of the De La Soul appearance. That was just 4 hours of work by a first time user built out of the Poser skeleton and a preset walk-designer animation, and they were happy to admit it. (And feature it in their first report)

Not all of us here are fine artists for a living. You got that right, I use Poser for 'art therapy'. I suspected that it was as you describe. I was anticipating a response like: "I ran it through UVMapper and a text editor first, but I didn't touch in post. Only took 42 seconds.) =)
