You could use a light sphere and surround the entire thing. (Light sphere = a rig of multiple lights set up around the vertices of a sphere.) The celing in your pic would block the overhead part of that but the lateral lights would fill the room well. You would then have to build your overhead lighting into the ceiling...either using radials or spots depening on the effect you wanted. But as the others said a pic would help. The link is to another thread that shows how to use Wings to create a lightdome. I just include it so you can see what I am talking about.
