Nah, the newest version of WinZip returns the same error message. Same with WinRar ... even though both apps give you the option of viewing the contents of an executable file, they return errors when you try to view the contents of DAZ' .exe files. There's no need for such an app, though. Simply use Carolly's technique, then use whatever HTML-reading app you like to view the ReaMe file. Firefox opens the files for me when I click on them ... I just tried it with the ReadMe's for several recent DAZ products, Firefox opened all of them ... it just won't do that automatically at the end of the installation process for some reason, especially with more recent DAZ products (i.e. sometimes Firefox does open older DAZ ReadMe's ... obviously there's been some change in coding that prevents Firefox from being able to open the files automatically.)
An alternate to Carolly's technique is to simply let the .exe do its thing (installing to default directories) and then go to your Poser "ReadMe's" directory, open the specific ReadMe file there. Usually, the ReadMe's are named after the specific product name, making them fairly easy to find.
If, as cooler appears to be reporting, even this technique doesn't work, then manually open the ReadMe's with MS Internet Explorer (shudder.) DAZ folks, if you're reading this thread, please fix this. More and more people are using Firefox for reasons of security and general feature preference. I suspect that the complaints about this will increase as Firefox's popularity as one's default Web browser increases. Might as well nip it in the bud. :-) The most recent version of DAZ installers are a huge improvement over earlier versions, this small improvement would make them even better.
