Creating a net texture is actually kind of easy...it will be getting it to flow and sag in the right places that will be more difficult.
Try something like this image for the transmap or perhaps something with more space between the white bits.
But if this is modeled in Bryce it will probably come out too even rather than stretched.
If it is modeled in something like Wings you could UV map it.
