Wow, that's a mouthful.
Alice, hopefully this might clear up some confusion; the white netting/mesh your seeing is the hair, you need to render it to be able to see it, that's how it works because it is a transparency, which makes hair look more realistic in poser with a texture applied. The old style poser hair was that bubblegum plaster like formation gooped on the poser 3 and 4 guys and gals heads that looked like colored gobs of spit or worse, that's probably what your used to looking for.
Listen to the folks here. Take the time to read stuff, look in the poser forum of this website and ask questions there also, and play around with what you buy, I doubt you can break it by trying to learn by trial and error. In the meanwhile, the bald look is getting trendier.
