At work, since I always have a "carry cam" with me, I am sometimes called on to take pic of a recent project. This is a jewelry business. I use two methods and both give satisfactory results. One is a fluorescent bench lamp with tissue taped along the lamp as a sort of diffuser. The other is the elaborate set-up shown...tea pitcher sanded to dull the sides. This actually works well in on-the-spot shots. The lighting is another flrorescent lamp.
Surprising how well simple devices do work sometimes.
