the skillset most useful for clothing creator: the ability to draw paperdoll outfits. I kid you not. you have to make the front and back of the thing, as well as the front and back depth of it according to very precise isntructions. the widget comes with excellent instrucitonal material. I found that a vector drawing package (coreldraw) really helped to get a sharp 1 pixel line in the 2 colors needed for the outline. I didnt bother with interior texture for creaiton, as thats easy to make later. (since the uvmapping matches your template...really) You should be able to do fine in any image editing program that can save out GIF files with transparancy options then you follow the instructions and a clothing item happens. Just like that ..poof! Theres a bit of backing and forthing to get the front and back to weld together but Phil explains that quite clearly. Then you have an item ready for the cloth room If you want to make it into a conforming object, then you need to go and group it and add bones .. but there are various helper programs out there if you feel intimidated (autogrouper, quickconform, Pwizard, etc) note: this is really best suited to cloth type items, not hard stuff like belts or armor. also it doesnt extend to the head, hands or feet as I recall. sorry for the delay .. my ebots seem to have made a left turn at albuquerque
