There's an odd mix here.
Some people can't handle criticism of any sort. Therefore, one should never consider making any negative comments.
On the other hand, select individuals are actually seeking criticism of their work. Therefore, one should leave in-depth constructive criticism.
However, certain critics aren't really attempting to offer helpful critques: they merely want to troll images. And sometimes the trolling is disgused under the banner of "constructive criticism". If the troll's negative intent is pointed out, then the troll can always declare innocence -- they were offering "helpful criticism" -- and their comment didn't actually mean what the tone indicated that it meant.
But ----- the term "troll" is frequently applied to anyone that says anything other than "THIS IS THE BEST THAT I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!"
Then again ----- anyone that says that "THIS IS THE BEST THAT I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!" is a suck-up, and therefore cannot be taken seriously.
My opinion? You can't win.
Perhaps it's best to not leave any comments at all.
