1: Learn how to use the material room. I use a proprietary material setup that looks decent even under the crappy default lighting. But it does look better when lit properly, so... 2: Learn how to use Poser's lights. Just because Poser 6 will be here in a few days doesn't mean you shouldn't keep practicing with Poser 5. Poser 6 will have more features to learn, so you'll have an easier time if all you already know how to use the previous version. 3: Master magnets and joint parameters. DAZ may someday learn how to properly rig for Poser, but they haven't yet. I haven't met a DAZ figure yet who didn't have some outrageous flaw or flaws in significant areas, spoiling any shader/lighting efforts by showing creases where none should be, or looking just plain wrong when used in ordinary posing. Magnets will free you from the morph-of-the-month club, with the added benefit that it will be easier to get clothes to fit, since you can use the same magnets with slight modifications to morph the clothing.
