As stated above.... I agree with you....That said, how many threads are going to ensue, based on this latest debacle. For cripes sake... Apparently..egos have run amuk.... I don't give rats a$$ what people think of what I do...I do the best I can given my "real" life constraints. If some don't like it...DON'T LOOK!!!!! I welcome all critics...so those hiding in the shadows....that I've never seen comment of my pics(those that are being quite vocal now)...I will assume I'm in the 90% of pics that are crap. Too freakin bad!!!! I will continue to plague this gallery with crap until I'm banned for posting "kitsch". Thank You very much >:( To those(2) who have been vocal..all though your intent was appreciated...my respect for you has been flushed...a very sad day indeed.
Geez Dlk take a pill everyone has a right to an opinion. People flying off the handle is what is annoying in my opinion. So far this has been a very civil subject one that I have enjoyed reading. I doubt anything will come of it because Renderosity is a hobby site for the most part and CGtalk is for pros. Two very different formats. Thx Vance.
You need to chill as well Vance ;) Civil??? You have to be joking.....I could care less what RO does....phases me none...I have a life outside of all this mess.
That said...I will NOT be told..I'm a worthless piece of "kitch" and should not post here.......
My response to this was a culimation of various threads knee deep below........I haven't seen you reply to said threads. SO.............>:(
Fine..I readily admit my pics are not up to CGtalks standards so !@#$ what!

Work In Progress posting and feedback should be encouraged and not made to feel like pulling out a porno mag in front of your parents...cough ;)
True.......so long as the intent of the so-called "WIP" isn't to garner the same effect as a prono mag in front of the parents.
In other words, a deliberate challenge -- intended to "prove a point", or to provoke others.
The thing about challenges is that they tend to be answered in kind. That shouldn't come as any sort of a big surprise.
BE EXCELLENT TO ONE ANOTHER, DUDES! Not a problem here. I think that it's a great idea. So long as there isn't a snarl hidden behind the smile. If a challenge is issued, then some will respond. The challenger shouldn't complain when this happens.
Avoid snobbery and arrogance. The price of a piece of software has a disgusting tendency to cause snobbery and few of us are superb naturally gifted artists. There are two types of snobbery......the self-professed type that looks down from above, and sneers.......and the self-professed type that looks up from below, and spits. Neither one is healthy.
Snobbery works best when software is both expensive and performs great. Snobbery doesn't work when software is expensive but doesn't perform all that great (ie. Amapi Pro 7).

I have always been impressed with most of the things that go on here at this forum. Guitta would be proud. I often don't comment but I do read the posts. With Vue 5 Infinate coming to alot of people, I bet this will be a buzzing place and much to learn which excites me. Whahoo...let the games begin and thanks to all whom are always ready to help me. Sharen :-)

Since posts below touch on this, and it is an important subject, because so far, this forum has shown less fun, enthusiasm, posts and generally upbeat than the Bryce or other forums :/ 1) Work In Progress posting and feedback should be encouraged and not made to feel like pulling out a porno mag in front of your parents...cough ;) Folk posted about a WIP gallery, that's one idea but why not just post WIPs if you feel like it here, and have room for lots of constructive feedback on forums. 2) Avoid snobbery and arrogance. The price of a piece of software has a disgusting tendency to cause snobbery and few of us are superb naturally gifted artists. I don't give a rat's backside if you finger paint with acrylic or use Maya...have fun, enjoy it all, it's art, I hope to see you post wonders, but if you aren't DaVinci any sensible person will not be disappointed ;) Seen some gorgeous stuff done in Bryce 3, and crap with MAX3D. -Beware of inflated egos with Vue moving up market. -Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beholders in Dungeons and dragons are brilliant but xenophobic monsters who have lots of eyes, who can see all around, tons of magical powers but are as pleasant to be around as a hungry pit bull with a fetish for chewing groins... 3)I personally do not have time or desire to spend very long on all projects: some I do, others I don't. I get ideas, I wish to work on them when they are fresh, and learn how to do new things. Dunno about you all but just fiddling around, working on things you learn with Vue. -Real Life...this places limits, and also gives different outlooks. -I spent three weeks building the Spaceport pic, 2days for The Legion. I like them both, not perfect, but enjoyed making them, outcome is good to ME and I learned a fair bit. I've only had Vue for a couple of months, much to learn! -Very very few artists are ever satisifed with their own work, because...we're artists ;)We make something and see flaws, or think of better ways...etc. You need to be able to say "Ok, that's good, I'll go with it". Feedback from others helps a ton because they often spot what you missed, or show new tricks, but that doesn't mean they are RIGHT. 4 HAVE FUN!, or as one of my favourite characters would say "STOP HITTING ME WITH THEM NEGATIVE WAVES, MORIARITY! ;) -Real life is enough of a damned downer for anyone, art is uplifting challenging, inspiring and a good challenge to work on. -I'm chronically ill in real life, and find digital art a great thing to work on, theraputic, positive, creative. There is a CRAP load more to complain about than if someone used the wrong setting in a render or if a pair of boobs gives you an unfair advantage.... ponders borrowing a pair of female breasts for a week...nah... ;) BE EXCELLENT TO ONE ANOTHER, DUDES! (P.S. yes I'm British so my sense of humour is distinctly warped, muahah)
