Uh, can't you do this with the morphing sheet I saw a LONG time ago (maybe at Traveller's site?), a good transmap and a good set of bump and texture maps? It wouldn't be a TRUE bead curtain, but with magnets and modifications to the transparancy, you could simulate one well...
