Wackie, I remember tagging and a change in graffiti starting like this about 20 years ago when I was 16/17 - poignant in my memory because of some graffiti on a railway bridge taking the mickey out of a girl I knew then. Our area isn't quite rural, but it's not heavily urban, and it still happened a lot. Social issues that stick in my mind related to it? American style "Guardian Angels" and how they were going to be set up to patrol railways in the UK, and the negative reception the idea received from police & public.... Michael Jackson's 'BAD' album.... Joy Riders starting to actually steal cars and not race their own.... often with "I'm Stolen. Chase Me" scrawled on the back for the police.... (",)
