For instance, not following the rules here is not in my best interests. Knowing those rules is critical to following them, and I'm recieving conflicting rules from different sources -- not unexpected given different people are involved. Karen is a friend of mine (or, at least, I like to think so, lol), and it makes me uncomfortable to put her in a position where she's got to deal with ugly stuff, so by asking, I can help to avoid it.
