It seems some of the Mac cds have problems. A couple of people have been successful after cleaning the cds...check this post: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=2191573

Had the same problem with the "Winter Queen" CD. I cleaned the disc and tried it several times before it started to install. It did take about 15-20 seconds after putting the disc in the drive before the install started when it did work. This is on a PC. Keep trying.

Had the same problem last nite installing the PC version. I thought there for awhile I was going to have to return the disk, but after popping it in and out several times it finally started up with autorun. I was SWEATING!

Offer it back..:) I had to eject and reinsert the disc each time too. Took a few tries, but it finally worked. As a matter of fact I just tried to install it again, and I had to try 8 times before it worked.

I had some minor trouble during installation, although I'm not entirely certain whether it was a disc flaw or a software glitch.

The files copied over without difficulty, but then at the very end the installer got hung up at the "updating registry" stage. I sat nearby and watched the drive lights blink merrily for another ten minutes before trying unsuccessfully to cancel or terminate the installer via Task Manager. I eventually had to manually eject the disc to stop it.

It had apparently finished whatever was necessary, though, because I was able to launch P6 afterward without problems.

Now, I just need to contact CL and ask them to send me my Shade serial number, in the event that I should someday wish to use it. I cannot fathom why they didn't simply place a serial-number sticker on the back of the CD envelope, as they did with P6.

UPS crushed my poser 6 box so I looked at the CDs carefully before use. The Poser 6 install CD had discoloration that looked like some poor quality CDRs I once bought. (like the layers did not laminate properly during manufacturing). Anyway I was concerned about being able to read it but it worked OK. Maybe your CD has this problem too??? Steve
