I had the chance to try my bogus CDs on a friends computer, a Red iMac G3! And guess what? They both worked on the first try!! I get the feeling that ALL of the discs are "not quite right" but some machines are just able to deal with them easier than others. Still not sure what exactly is wrong with them. Maybe some weird copy protection or something? At any rate, I get the sinking feeling that any replacement discs will be exactly the same, unless Curious Labs presses them all again. That could take quite a while, I imagine. This could be a huge financial blow to them. But for now, after a little disc magic, I have P6 working on my machine. And fear not, legal aces, my copy is being used "like a book." :-) Side note: anybody know of any good utility to salvage messed-up CDs? Another side note: Happy to finally get a built-in Poser male that doesn't look like a doofus. Too bad Jessi is so scary looking! She's no Steph Petite, sigh. And another thing, nobody mentioned that this was a "LE" version of LaRoo, whose mouth does not open!! But enough ranting. To close, if your discs are funky, try them on another Mac if you can, make a disk image, and hope for the best! Now, uh, time to go download the latest DazStudio build... ;-)
