The program I was after has been updated, and released on Sourceforge as open-source.

For those who are interested, here's a shot of what it does - adds a tab to shortcuts so that you can automate screen resizing as the program starts, and restore your default size when it finishes.

Looks like a different program to jfike's, by the way.
