Here's my advice: Go to www.DAZ3d.com. Download DAZ|Studio. It's a free program, that does almost everything Poser does. Then download Michael 3, Victoria 3, and Aiko 3. Also all free.

Post your "how to start" question at the D|S Forum at DAZ3d.com. They have tutorials and such that will get you on your way.

If you find you like this 3D stuff, then you can start thinking about maybe buying Poser or other software, and content for it.
