Subject: POSER 6 Tutorial rookie question .

I apologize if this seems stupid, but I'm confused about some instructions in Lesson One, "Creating a clown from scratch." On page 78 "To apply a texture map:"

  1. Enable the Texture Changes Apply To entire Figure Option. Where is that option?
  2. Locate the file CLOWN01. Where is the file?, I can't find it anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe we're both stupid, but I'm having the same problem. Do you have the download version or the boxed? Couldn't find that "Texture Changes ..." option either. Was hoping that at least the clown texture would be in the content update.

boxed version. I can't find it, and it's driving me crazy! I couldn't find the paper-airplane file either.

hrm...those are old Poser 4 tutorials..

I've got the downloaded version, so apparently that's not the problem. I suspected they might be old tutorials, because they're not using the default 6 character. Tirjasdyn - do you know if the "Texture Changes Apply to Entire Figure" is an obsolete feature? Thanks

Those tutorials are left over from Poser 4. I remember doing them. The files were in a folder on the Poser 4 application CD but they seem to have left them out of P6. Strange that theyn kept the tutorial but got rid of the required files.

Good grief! They didn't update the tutorial. One more for content updater II. Nerd3D

In Poser 6 Language applying a change to all textures on a prop or figure would go something like this... In the material room right click one of the shader nodes (Like you would know what a shader node was at this point in the tutorial :-P ) Pick Select all Right click again Pick apply to all Click OK Shift click the "remove detached nodes" Wacro. This does a bit more than apply the texture change, it copies the entire material setup, a bit more power full than the Poser 4 "apply changes to all materials option" Nerd3D

Thanks Nerd3D, that also makes it a lot easier to apply a color to everything. In the tute you had to pick everything and use the color tool on each item. Wonder if it's even worth continuing with that tutorial? Maybe I should wait for something more current.

There are updates for the tutorial at the CL website.

That just supplies the missing bits for the existing tut. The whole thing needs to be re-written using P6 language. Nerd3D
