This is a tip I was given by a professional some years ago and I have been using it ever since. I use an Epson printer, papers and inks, and as I print most of my pictures (and fractals) on glossy paper, when I choose the print media at the printing stage I don't select "Glossy Paper" but "Glossy Film".
