Subject: Mac Poser to Mac MotionBuilder to Mac Maya and back

Hi all! I haven't been posting lately due to a number of factors (teaching at both a public high school and a local college tend to mess up free time - not that I've ever had much of that anyways ;-) - coupled with having pneumonia, which can really ruin your day). I have finally figured out a procedure for getting the above subject line to work flawlessly. The procedure works on the following versions, in any combination: Mac Poser 4, ProPack, 5 Mac MotionBuilder Standard 5, 5.5, 6, 6.01 Pro Mac Maya Complete 4.5, 5 Mac Maya Unlimited 6.01, 6.5 I have an animation done but can't upload it to any of the freebie host accounts that I have (even 50Megs won't accept it!). BTW, it is all done on a plain old Mac without resorting to a PC or Virtual PC (P4 and ProPack only work in Classic mode, which can't be helped and Poser 6 should work, but I don't own it yet). I'll be going on vacation tomorrow with my wife for a week to Ocean City, MD. So I won't have an internet connection until I return, and the tutorial should be done for all at that time. If there's any interest in this, I will post the tutorial at least to a freebie site It'll be in a downloadable PDF format. -scara

I'm very interested, especially the poser to motionbuilder. I use EIAS for renders which should have FBX soon. Hope you have a great vacation! Tim

I would also be very interested in a tutorial for this. Thanks in advance!

I own Poser4/5/6 AND Motion Builder, but not Maya. I also have both Mac and PC and Poser license for both. I also have my own webserver, could host your animation. Please IM me. Motion Builder is animation only. My question is, what does Motion Builder offer to animators that the tools inside Maya do not? Question 2: Is there some sort of export from Motion Builder that could be imported back into Poser to render by applied like a pose to the original model? ::::: Opera :::::
