Anton - I've just posted a slightly related message in a thread about hair (a few topics down) prior to reading this thread. This is exactly the sort of thing I've just spent the last hour examining. My apologies I think are in order as I now seem to recall - and I failed to mention - that (I think) you were the original inventor of this technique?
