I think what's missing around the world these days is elegance and grace. Just think about Fred and Ginger gliding around the floor, that sort of illustrates what I'm talking about. I was in a local(Chicago) club not long ago that was all chrome and mirrors and black marble, very Art Deco.I almost expected Fred and Ginger to come waltzing out on the balcony. No, I'm not that old, but I'm a real movie buff. Think about some of the thirties movies. Jean Harlow in simple draped satin or a very youg Kate Hepburn looking absolutely radiant in a glittery, tissue-like butterfly costume("Christopher Strong", one of her early movies). Back to my original reasons for this post. I was wondering if you were familiar with "Godey's Lady Doll Book". It has all sorts of patterns and ideas for fashions around the turn of the century, somewhere around late 1800 and early 1900. It was for women who wanted to sew their own doll clothes in the mode of the day. The other reason was to tell you how much I appreciate your work and to thank you.
