Actually, I had to look those things up. It's natural to assume that a dog called an "American Eskimo" is an Alaskan breed instead of a made up name that only has to do with the dog's white colors. Nobody can be blamed for thinking that it's a snow sled dog because that's the immediate image anyone will get with the name.
