Subject: Has anyone else tried to download that Content Parasite Cockroach??

sandoppe ( ) posted Mon, 25 April 2005 at 10:43 PM ยท edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 10:34 AM

I keep getting a zero byte file. Anyone else find the same thing? I sent them an email and all they do is send me back a sales receipt for the free cockroach in a corrupted download file :)

I was just getting ready to post a bitch about that here myself. I ordered it twice and both times got that same thing.

You must have given it a low rating too!! :) I ordered it twice also. They should have checked it before sending out their newsletter.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Mon, 25 April 2005 at 11:00 PM

According to the newsletter, freebies are supposed to go up on Tuesday night. Perhaps they don't have all the files in place yet.

CL apparently posted the missing P5 content, also. It's a 152MB download.

sandoppe ( ) posted Mon, 25 April 2005 at 11:10 PM

They forgot 152mb of content!!?? That's quite an oversight! You're right.....it does say Tuesday night for the freebies. Guess I should cut them some slack until then :) I don't even have Poser 6, but the freebies seem to work fine in P5.

I've re-attached the Cockroach file to the product. You can download it under the MyStuff tab.

The P5 Content wasn't included in P6 because it wouldn't fit on the CD.

They forgot 152mb of content!!?? It wouldn't have fit on the installer CD, anyway. I wonder what would cost CL more ... burning a second CD for the remaining content, or the bandwidth expenses for this behemoth download.

I'm on dialup, that's a real slap in the face.

Thanks krazik! Sorry about the "one star" rating on the cockroach. I lost my temper. I'm sure it's really quite a wonderful cockroach :) I think CL should have burned another CD for content. I suspect the bandwidth is costing a lot more than that extra CD would have.

You're both welcome.

I cleared all the 1 votes, please download file and re-vote after you've had a chance to actually review/use it.

Does the checkout button commonly go to a "page cannot be displayed"? (first time to the CP and well... interesting... or do I need another browser for that part of the website to work - everything else seems to work fine if a little slow?.. and yeap, tried refreshing a few... lots ... of times..)

Whatever you do, don't forget your password for CP because the forgotten password button doesn't work. You never actually get the e-mail, or if you do it tells you that somebody will fix it up and e-mail you a new password, which they never actually do. After a few weeks of trying, I had to create a clone account and since it refused to register me twice with the same e-mail, that meant getting a new e-mail address to use as well.

Me? I'm hoping for a dragonfly with iridescent wings... and the proper rotation morphs for accurate flying. A jeweled scarab or ladybird would be cool, too. Even staghorn beetles are fascinating. I was amused by the cockroach... and "other items from this vendor" showing a bed! Thanks. But. No. Thanks. The cockroach isn't going to live in luxury, despite that appealing third image. If I sleep on the floor, he can sleep on the floor. And if he starts typing letters to the editor, he better get the crumbs out of the keyboard. Carolly (and, yes, I do, it is better for the back)

sandoppe ( ) posted Tue, 26 April 2005 at 7:53 PM

I wouldn't be able to walk if I slept on the floor!:) My back is already bad....not sure it would do any good.

:sigh: I was hoping that someone would pick up on Kafka (when did the guy realize that he was a cockroach, when he threw back the sheets or stumbled into the bathroom to shave?), even if they didn't catch the reference to Archy and Mehitabel. Carolly
