I think you are doing a pretty darn good job. you are putting a lot of effort into the tanks..armor.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Cool stuff

Thank you nickedshield,

It would be a good thing for me to find out where most buyers of my models system are in speed and ram as some of my models are very high in scale and mesh size can overload a system really fast. The high end models are for sure made for the faster systems out.

The good thing is I can adjust the size and detail to a point.

Awesome work! I especially like the tank!

JFandL ( ) posted Thu, 28 April 2005 at 10:32 PM

Thank you ElorOnceDark, The Mk4F2 model has been in the works for well over a year of modeling. I'm down to texture work. This one may come in three sizes as it is in the picture, well over 50 meg, to big for low end systems.

I use my models and I do take care when making them to keep the end users in mind.

Wow.. looking really nice. Are these models going to be for Poser, or are you releasing them as 3ds or obj models?

I too like the DH2. Would buy that model at a reasonable price. In terms of mesh size I've found it's more the large texture maps which kill my system rather than the mesh itself. Often have to scale them down.

As a person with a reasonably high-end PC (who doesn't want products always skinned down to fit a less-capable PC), any chance of 2 versions (light/heavy)? Or would that be too much trouble...

JFandL ( ) posted Fri, 29 April 2005 at 10:04 AM

Thanks bazze, Your Do 335 is looking very good. Poser at this time? Im not sure. I've seen so much stuff going on in that format on the forums, most of which is not good of late.

JFandL ( ) posted Fri, 29 April 2005 at 10:18 AM

Thanks Mazak, My Models are made for animation and still work. however they are not ready to roll out of the box, you must rig the models parts in your software for animation.. if your software can do animation,or you have a plugin for it. Take C4d they have a plugin called Jenna that rigs tank tracks for ainmations. Ect.

Thank you William, Glad you like the Dh2. Its for sure a fine line keeping every user happy, but I do try. The Dh2 should be the Next Model going up here at Renderosity

JFandL ( ) posted Fri, 29 April 2005 at 10:27 AM

Hi ChuckEvans, Not at all, I hope to have 3 sizes of models. 1.Mid range scale 2.high scale 3.very high scale Most of my models start out in the Very high scale.

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Fri, 29 April 2005 at 10:49 AM

Cool beans!

JFandL ( ) posted Fri, 29 April 2005 at 11:04 AM

I should add one more thing, due to the 25 meg limit on Renderosity some of my high end models will not be posted here on Renderosity, unless I can find a way around that limit.

Yes I use that plugin, its the only way right now for animations in Truespace dealing with tank tracks IMHO!
