That was my gripe in another thread. Although it is not ensured that older software operate in a new OS, I've had little difficulties in the Windows world with this issue. I've run software written for Windows 3.1 under Windows XP Pro! The main thing that breaks here is games. That a dot upgrade (10.3 -> 10.4 remember) breaks even professional software (Photoshop) is horrifying. I do realize that this is adding 64-bit support, but since my Apple computer is a G4 eMac, I'll patiently wait until I'm done programming and/or stability is resumed. I cannot put enthusiasm before efficacy - if I cannot complete my plugins, I cannot support my business.

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg off.
