This forum is indeed meant to be less for program specific Q&A and more for the general modeling, workflow, aesthetic of each project posted. The challenges (which to date have been laughable...my fault) don't really require the app to be listed because it's not about that. Hand me a copy of Maya and I'm lost (sorry, it's the truth) hand me a copy of MAX, Rhino or WINGS and I can run circles around most folks. A program is only as good as the artist using it and their understanding of it. We could list the apps but without taking the time to learn them, I don't see how that list would be any more helpfull than just a general rundown of what folks use.

Having said that,

I use Rhino, Wings, Max, Silo and I'm trying to take a few hours a month to learn XSI, which I'm doing a lot faster than when I tried Maya. EDIT: And Baz is right. I personally find WINGS' workflow superior to Silo's, even though Silo offers more modleing options. Wings really puts things at your fingertips and the tools are mapped logically. Some of the shortcuts in Silo's default layout leaves me scratching my head. I mean X to connect and T to turn off the manipulator? Hello...that's silly.
