Hi Anton I take your post as a wake up call. I sure wouldnt want to be guilty of stealing someone elses creations. When I first stumbled upon Renderosity, I was so excite by all the 3D images, I must have downloaded over a hundred images within the first few days of visiting the site. After continuing to visit the site, I became very interested in making an attempt of creating the images I had come to admire so much. Would I be able to create such awesome works? I didnt know. But I knew one thing. I was definitely motivated by all the artist who posted, props, textures, and images to the site, as well as the almost completed images included as attachments discussed in the forum.(a great source and place for inspiration). Once I had obtained Poser 4 and began to give it a go, I would have given up on the whole thing if I had no had the help of people like you and all the other artist. In the excitement of finding new textures, MTs props, and figures, I failed to properly file the items I d downloaded to a separate folder outside of Poser 4, and record the names of the artist/creators. If I had done so, I would now be able to simply look at the folder and provide the proper credits to any image I plan to post to the gallery. If I decide to post an image to either the forum of the gallery, the proper credits could be given the various creators. I am responding to your post in the hope of helping the newbes that find the site and like me become so overwhelmed forget that the artist that post free stuff do it as a gesture of kindness as well as a way to display their work, In many cases these free items are posted to draw attention to the items they have for sale on the net, and are only free to use on a personal basis. If I wanted to post an image to the gallery or attach an image to a message in the forum and I dont know who the creator is, I put that image on hold until I determine whom the creator of the texture, MTs, figure, etc. is. I wouldnt want to improperly or unlawfully use someone elses creation without giving proper credit. You never know, the next newbe could bring a whole new concept to the community or greatly enhance whats already here. Im sure she/he would want to make sure they got credit for their creations. I recently posted an image to the forum to get feed back. In my excitement I failed to properly give credit to the creators of the creators: Image SMV 4# Super Model Vickie By Jim Burton = Figure, Hair, Cloth, Shoes. Lisa P4 Texture By Nod = Lisa Texture Nileth Hair Tex By Nileth = Nile braids hair texture Without all the free stuff and items for sale in the online store at Renderosity and other member sites, the total richness of the whole Poser experience would be greatly diminished. (Things just wouldnt be the same.) Does Poser 4 provide a way to scan the files to display the owners/creators of any non-default or hybrid files placed in it? That would be very helpful. Thanks for the heads up Anton.
