Keep in mind that the =majority= of used memory vis-a-vis Poser import is -texture- files. Most skin texture sets are far too large for the average viewing distance you see with Poser models in Vue (3000x3000 or 4000x4000 are utterly wasted; the details simply aren't seen). And you can shrink the textures yet again if you are animating; the motion blurs the fine details into invisibility. So why waste RAM on them? Take a high res mesh like V3, and put one of the large 'real skin' textures on it, import it, render it, then set the scene up again, reducing the texture in size and re-applying it, then render again and compare the difference.
