First off Smart Pipe is a poseable pipe made of (I believe) metaballs. Madmaxbr5 can correct me if I'm wrong. Texturing it is tricky. You gotta select metaballs and texture them as a group. You will not be able to texture the pipe itself by selecting it. I have used it a number of times, but have had a hell of a time trying to get them to pose properly. They get really ornery when you try to curve them too much. Not sure why. Also they can't be scaled down too much either. There's a minimum size at which they can be reduced. Zenith is a lighting rig, and its really cool. Once imported, turn off your sun and point the rig at your scene. Madmaxbr5 included an arrow (that doesn't render) to help you point it. Think off it as a really powerful spot light. If you set it low on the horizon it will give those really long shadows you get at dusk or dawn, and does so with greater realism than the standard Bryce sun.
