Subject: Teahouse at Morikami-Original and PS version

Yes, it is all very subjective. Let me add my 2 since I've actually been there recently. It is about 15 minutes from where I live and I have a ton of photos that I've been taking there in hopes of doing a series on the Morikami Japanese gardens. I see Marlene has beat me to it, grrr.. (wink) ;o] Do you live nearby Marlene? It is true that when you are actually there on an overcast day, the top image is more acurate. But we have photoshop for a reason, right? I do like the second but agree with some that the foliage is a bit oversaturated and flattened out a bit. The teahouse is perfect but for some green fringing above the door and light and some intense blues in the floorboards. The treebark almost seems solarized too, a neat effect if that is what you want. It reminds me a bit of the technicolor vintage postcards of the 50s-70s which I think is very cool. I hope you don't find my observations too critical. As I said I really like what you did and hope to see more from your visit to the Morikami. ---Kort
