Personal opinion. I'd crop out a bit off the right side. The reason is that the darkness of the ball seems (to me) to overwhelm the light background *and* the boy. It pulls my eyes to the ball rather than the kid. In this postworked version, the fact that that is a reflection on the ball is less evident - my initial impression was just that it was a strangly textured ball. I love the thumbnail's emphasis on the kid. Since the boy is captured so well, I think that he is the best focal point for this version of your picture. It sounds like *he* is what you like best about the image as well. I do like the white space around him in the larger version, as long as he's not overwhelmed by the dark of the ball. OK. I think it's acceptible within this forum to do this so I took the liberty of cropping this and re-uploading it. Please forgive me if it's inappropriate but at least you'll better see what I meant and hopefully understand my rationale. And if any of ya'll who know about composition have feedback on my version, I'm all ears. I'm learning as well.
