You can also use the tools in the toolbar - make sure you have the body of a figure selected (the root of the hierarchy, with the figure's name) or the base part (usually the Hip) selected in the Scene palette and you can use the translate, rotate and scale (for scale you need to have the body selected, not the hip or other root part) tools to affect the whole figure or prop.
