There's also a support forum at vrayrender.com, which updates frequently about the progress of the renderer, and it's many incarnations. You might have to swim through the overwhelming threads about the 3ds plugin to find more info on the standalone version's progress.. Last I heard, they were working on version 1.5 for Max, and the Maya plugin fist, but things might have changed.
