Hello all, >Sorry for the confusion around this. Can everyone please redownload the file from next weeks >newsletter as it is being updated right now to address technical issues as well as this >license issue. >Once again, sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. >As it stands now, the creators wishes are what we are abiding by in this instance. >It cannot be used in commercial renders. >Thanks! >Deb Thanks for clearing that up. Sadly, since I can't use this item with the restrictions as such, I'll just delete it rather than redownloading it. Before I get blasted for spitting on the generosity of free stuff creators, I'm not, really, I'm not! This piece looks like an excellent set, and, having done a few freebies (very humble freebies comepared to this one :) I can well imagine the effort that went into it. I fully appreciate the authors right to distribute and license a product as they see fit, after all it their product, their blood, sweat and tears that went into the making of it. But to me, restrictions such as the ones on this product, whether free product or otherwise, beg the question of "whose art is it anyway." It is rather like having a lein on your car. You can drive around in it, but really, the bank owns it This just isn't acceptable to me, not for an image or anim that may spend hours, days or even weeks working on. I'm certainly happy to give credit for items I use, but in the end, If I can't control what happens to my own art, and if I can't even really say it's my art, it's not worth making. In any event, thanks again for the clarification. Perhaps in the future you might add a notice in the newsletter, on whether commercial use is allowed, as you do in free stuff. This might even save Rendo a few coins in bandwidth cost. Regards- Lemurtek
