There are two version -- the LE edition and the full version. The LE edition has full file-saving, but lacks certain useful tools that the full version has. There's some uncertainty regarding using it commercially as well. The full version will only save in the MQO native format, unless you purchase it, and there's no way to do that online (which is a pity as it's very inexpensive -- works out about 25GBP). I suppose you could send the value in Yen in an envelope if you could find Mr Mizno's address, and hope for the best :)
If you have both versions, you can work and save (MQO) in the full version, then load the MQO into the LE version, from where it can be re-saved in one of a number of formats.
Some file-converters are including MQO as an option now, and personally I think having conversion software is essential if you're working across several different modeling programs.
