The MAX interface has been used for the longest time (it started out as a autocad plug-in, and autocad has been around forever), with lightwave I think coming in 2nd place. You could say that means the Max and Lightwave interfaces would be the most mature. I personally like Max, and hate Lightwave. On the other hand, I'm not an artist.
