What's been really great for me is watching with my stepson, who is about to turn 10 years old. Before this series, he had never heard of Dr Who, the Daleks, the Tardis, none of it. There was this huge cultural gulf of knowledge. 13 episodes later, he's become the self-proclaimed biggest fan in Sheffield and has declared his birthday wishlist a "Dr Who only zone". He's now counting the days to the Xmas special. Zulu, I do agree that some of the story arcs should have been longer. There hasn't been anything longer than 2 episodes in this series. (Although you could say that the Bad Wolf thing tied the whole series into one arc.) But then perhaps that was a necessary evil in order to get a new generation of viewers on board - today's world, sadly, has a far shorter attention span, and perhaps a series of short, snappy episodes has helped to get the programme/characters to a point where they now have enough recognition amongst the new viewers to support longer story arcs. I hope so, anyway.
