Subject: What do *.shm files do?

I've discovered some rather large files breeding in my work folders, and I can't figure out exactly what process is putting them there. They are called [blahblah]_spotlight1_0001.shm (where [blahblah] is the filename of an associated .pz3 file). They come in 2 sizes, 62megs and 79 megs, even when the associated .pz3 is just a few megs. Are they temp files or are they integral to something like IBL for that file? Ob

The are your SHadowMaps... Poser does create them, when you have the "reuse shadow maps" option activated.

Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.
