Sure, on the lattice editor. Easy to do. start with a new sheet, make your bones like image 1 but without beer. Then texture it like bones, use wood or whatever you like, then in the bryce screen, shrink the height and rotate to your desire. Copy and past without moving, then go to the editor and draw in the wings like image 2, again, without beer. Put a transparent texture there. As for drawing, you have your choice of round, round, or round brushes, your discretion (hint, hint Bryce 6). Image 3 is the final rendering, but do it without beer cuz it looks better that way.
