Which means less noise to begin with. It is very hard to get it out of an image once it is in. One way is to reduce the image size so that it isn't so noticable. The other way is to use aftermarket filters like Neat Image so remove it. The only problem with that is when you remove the noise, some of the image detail usually goes with it. These filters are getting better at it all the time, but still it is better to minimize it in the first place. Also, try keep your photo exposure in the sweet spot (using your in-camera histogram as a guide). Excessively shadowy images get noisier when you adjust the level to compensate.
